Fishing licenses and associated charges are categorized by kind (freshwater or saltwater) in addition to age and length of time. Youth ages 14 and younger do not need a license.
Freshwater Fishing Season
Numerous ponds in Washington continue to be available all year, but the spring fishing “opener” takes place the very last Saturday in April. The “opener” signals the standard start of freshwater fishing.
A total description of fishing laws comes in the Washington division of Fish and Wildlife sport fishing guideline pamphlet. During the 12 months, regulations may alter as seafood runs change. Check the Washington Department of Fish and Wildlife internet site for updated fishing rules, or call one of the Department of Fish and Wildlife local offices (telephone numbers are in the pamphlet).
Parking at Wildlife Areas or Liquid Access Sites
Visitors parking at state-managed wildlife areas or water access web sites are required to show a find Pass or vehicle access pass on their vehicle. The car Access Pass is no-cost whenever you purchase your very first big- or small-game searching license, western Washington pheasant permit, trapping permit, Watchable Wildlife Decal, or saltwater, freshwater or combo recreational fishing license. Car Access Passes are not available. A car Access Pass is transferable between two automobiles.
