Perched on a mountaintop, overlooking the magnificent Vail Valley and Sawatch Range, sits The Lodge & salon at Cordillera, and also the location of the Orvis fly-fishing class. With 1.7 miles for the Eagle River running right through the Cordillera home, this can be a perfect place to learn tips fly-fish. Cordillera sits on over 7, 000 miles, and after fly fishing school has ended, pupils can take benefit of various other outdoor tasks, eg walking, golf, and horseback riding.

The Orvis fly-fishing college addresses anything from fly casting, choosing the right tackle, frontrunners and knots to fly selection and how to safely launch fish. Our mind trainer, Jeff Lyon, is entering into his 6th 12 months of training this course and is getting excited about another great 12 months.

Guide Fly Fishing School

Since 1994, Fly Fishing Outfitters features trained a huge selection of guides within our Guide Fly Fishing School. We either hire our students to operate for the Orvis Endorsed guide service, assist them to find work somewhere else within the guiding industry, or supply them with the tools to start their particular directing service.

Rowing Certification

The program will provide you with the hours and instruction would have to be a state qualified float guide in Colorado. You will spend a minimum of 50 hours in a boat and learn every aspect of sailing security and oarsmanship.

Children Fly-fishing Class

The employees at fly-fishing Outfitters is thrilled to be taking back once again our much enjoyed children Fly Fishing School! Camps run through the summertime from 9am-3pm, every Wednesday until work day.

Free Fly-fishing Clinics

Come and find out the finer points of fly casting from of our Orvis Endorsed guides. COMPLIMENTARY casting centers could be offered 7 days weekly at 9:30am from mid-June until mid-September, from the yard behind the Park Hyatt in Beaver Creek. Come have a look at our casting arena!
